Short Bio
Alessandro Salvi received the Bachelor degree (B.Sc.) in
Automation engineering cum laude from the University of Naples Federico
II, Italy, in 2007, with the thesis entitled "a Matlab Graphical User
Interface development to control a Virtual Engine Simulator and
Multibody models", in collaboration with Elasis s.c.p.a., under the supervision of prof. Gianmaria de Tommasi, Dr. Davide De Stefanis, Dr. Francesco Sbarbati.
He received the Master degree (M.Sc.) in Control Systems engineering
cum laude from the University
of Naples Federico II, Italy, in 2010, with the thesis "Mean Values
Engine model definition, calibration and application for Hardware In the
Loop simulation of internal combustion engines equipped with Multiair
technology", with the collaboration of FPT Industrial s.p.a., under the supervision of prof. Stefania Santini and Dr. Antonio Palma.
He received the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science
and Control Systems engineering at the University
of Naples Federico II, Naples, Italy, in 2014 with the thesis entitled
"Cooperative Control for Vehicle Platooning: a Complex Network approach"
under the supervision of prof. Mario di Bernardo and prof. Stefania Santini. His research
interests include distributed control of complex
networks with application in the automotive field and power systems. He was visiting PhD student at the Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya, Barcelona, Spain, in May 2011. Moreover, he was visiting PhD student at the Chalmers University of Technology, Goteborg, Sweden, for the autumn-winter semester, in 2013, where he collaborated with the Volvo Car Corporationto
validate a distributed vehicle platooning control stategy. Currently,
he is Research Fellow at the University of Naples Federico II and the
ICT Manager of S2-Move project.
