About myself

I was born in Naples, Italy, on June 22, 1979. I received the Laurea Degree (cum laude) in Telecommunication Engineering and the Ph.D. degree in Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering both from the University of Naples Federico II, in 2005 and 2009, respectively. Currently, I'm Associate Professor of Electromagnetic Fields at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology of the University of Naples Federico II. In February 2022 I obtained the Italian national habilitation as Full Professor of Electromagnetic Fields. I'm a Senior Member of IEEE. I'm the Founding Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society Section within IEEE Access; I'm serving as Associate Editor for the IEEE Journal of Selected Topics on Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing, and as Editorial Board Member for Remote Sensing (MDPI) and Electronics (MDPI).

My research interests are in the field of microwave remote sensing and electromagnetics, with particular focus on modeling of the electromagnetic scattering from natural surfaces and urban areas, SAR signal processing and simulation, information retrieval from SAR data, remote-sensing techniques for developing countries, and electromagnetic propagation in urban areas.
