Massimiliano Albanese is a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Naples "Federico II". He received his Laurea degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the same university in March 2002. He defended his Ph.D. thesis on December 16th, 2005.

His primary research interests lie in the area of information retrieval, multimedia database and knowledge extraction and representation. He's currently involved in a joint research project called STORY between the University of Maryland at College Park and the University of Naples. He's also involved in a national research project named WEB-MINDS.
