Short Resume
I'm an Associate Professor
at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (
DIETI) of the University of Napoli Federico II,
where I received my MS degree in 2013 and my PhD degree in 2016 defending a Thesis titled
Network monitoring in public clouds: issues, methodologies, and applications..
I'm a member of
Traffic
and
COMICS research groups.
Teaching
I teach the course of
Fundamentals of Computer Science
for the Laurea degrees (BS) in Computer Engineering and Automation Engineering since 2020,
and the course of
Fundamentals of Computer Networks
for the professional degree in Mechatronics since 2021.
My teaching webpage is available
here.
Research interests
My research interests fall in the area of networking, and, in particular, of
cloud-network monitoring,
IP measurements,
IP topology discovery,
and network traffic analysis.
Research Projects
I have been actively involved in the development of several open-source research projects, including:
- CloudSurf,
a platform to easily perform network monitoring tasks in public-cloud infrastructures from the
general user angle.
- MIRAGE,
a reproducible architecture for mobile-app traffic capture and ground-truth creation.
MIRAGE-AppAct-2024, MIRAGE-COVID-CCMA-2022, MIRAGE-Video,
and MIRAGE-2019 human-generated datasets have been collected by means of MIRAGE.
- MANANA
a mobile app that aims at providing users with practical and easy-to-use
"communication infrastructure ingredients", and allow them to easily and safely
share this information with researchers and regulatory bodies
(contributing to a crowdsourced publicly-available monitoring system).
