Short Biography

Carmine Cesarano is a Ph.D. in Computer and System Engineering at the Dipartimento di Informatica e Sistemistica of the University of Naples Federico II.

There he received the Ph.D. degree (December 2006) with the thesis entitled "Topic and Opinion Detection from Large Document Repositories" and the MS degree in Computer Science and Enginnering in 2002 discussing a thesis on Computer Vision and multimedia databases entitled "Un Sistema per la Gestione di Basi di Dati di Immagini Basato su Tecniche di Visione Attiva" (italian).

Research

I am currently a Post-Doc in Computer and Systems Engineering at the University of Naples Federico II. I am working with Prof. Antonino Mazzeo and Lucio Sansone

My advisor is Professor Lucio Sansone and my co-advisor is V.S. Subrahmanian

My principal research interests are:

• Multimedia Information Systems
• Multimidia Databases
• Information Retrieval
• Topic Detection and Tracking
• Natural Languages Processing
