Research projects

I principali progetti di ricerca condotti o in corso sono i seguenti:

  • MAMAS project
The project is still ongoing and is funded by the national research program 2005-2007. The objective of the project is to develop new multi-performance materials to be used in multi-layer configurations to protect civil infrastructures subjected to different actions. Following a multi-hazard approach, different loading conditions, such as earthquake, blast, fire and impact.

  • SAS project
The project was developed by AMRA and funded by EU within the EPCIP (European Programme for Critical Infrastructure Protection) program. The objective was to develop protection barriers of airport structures against malicious blast actions and disruptions. The end-user of the project was the Italian agency for air traffic control ENAV. The barriers were made using composite materials in order to have no interference with air-traffic radio communications. At the end of the project blast tests were conducted to validate the mechanical behavior of the barriers.

  • TENZA project
The project was funded by USA TSWG agency and developed by the Italian research center AMRA, in cooperation with different USA universities and ANAS Company. The project focused on the blast assessment of an existing r.c. arch bridge, belonging to the old path of the Salerno-Reggio Calabria highway.
