Reverse engineering biological networks

bullet CORE-Net

CORE-Net has been developed by Francesco Montefusco and Carlo Cosentino at the Biomechatronics Lab of the Università degli Studi Magna Graecia at Catanzaro, Italy, for reverse engineering biological interaction networks from steady-state and time-course experiments.

It is particularly useful when dealing with partially known networks (which is likely the case in the biological domain), since it can take into account prior knowledge in a straightforward manner.

bulletPACTLS

PACTLS is a software developed by Francesco Montefusco and Carlo Cosentino in the Biomechatronics Lab of the Università degli Studi Magna Graecia at Catanzaro, Italy, and in the Systems Biology Lab of the University of Leicester, UK, for reverse engineering biological interaction networks from steady-state and time-course experiments.

It is based on the constrained total least squares identification method, which allows to deal with the measurement noise, which can be very significant in biological experiments.
