In section 1.1.2 we recalled the fact that, for constant external field and temperature, the equilibria (i.e. metastable states) are given by the minima of the free energy (1.53). Remembering that $\textbf{M}=M_s\textbf{{m}}$, the unknown will be the magnetization unit-vector field $\textbf{{m}}$.
