Welcome to my personal webpage!
I am a Postdoctoral scholar at University of Naples Federico II, Department of Industrial Engineering, member of IDEAS Lab.
I studied Mechanical Engineering at University of Naples Federico II, where I received a Bachelor's and a Master's degree (both cum laude) in September 2012 and October 2014, respectively. During my Master, I spent 5 months as master thesis student at the Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics Research, Darmstadt, Germany.
In November 2014, I started a Ph.D. Program in Industrial Engineering at University of Naples Federico II (with focus on soft robotics). During my Ph.D., I have been visiting student at the George W. Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering, Georgia Institute of Technology (Atlanta GA, USA) and at the Department of Aerospace Engineering, University of Maryland (College Park MD, USA). In February 2018, I defended my doctoral degree with a thesis entitled "Geometric soft robotics: a finite element approach" (advisors: Prof. Giuseppe Di Gironimo and Prof. Bruno Siciliano).
In March 2019, during the European Robotics Forum, I received the 2019 Georges Giralt PhD Award for the best robotics doctorate in Europe.
My research interests include: soft robotics, geometric modeling and control, biomechanics and bio-inspired design, 3D biomedical scanning, robotic inspection and maintenance.
I am passionate about robotics, mechanics and bioengineering.
