Alberto Dainotti

Alberto Dainotti Welcome to my web page !

I'm working as Post-Doc in the COMICS group, a research group on Networking headed by Prof. Giorgio Ventre at the Computer Science and Engineering Department (Dipartimento di Informatica e Sistemistica) of University of Napoli (UoN) "Federico II", where I received my PhD in 2008 defending a thesis entitled "Understanding Internet Traffic: Can We Classify the Unknown?".

My main research interests are on traffic measurements, analysis, modeling and classification, and on network security.  I usually work closely together with Antonio Pescape' and Alessio Botta, who are also great friends.

A few people have something to say about the colors of this web page. If you want express your disgust, my email address is quite simple:  alberto  CHIOCCIOLA unina.it  (substitute "CHIOCCIOLA" with "@").

From July'07 to February'08, I was visiting scholar in CAIDA/UCSD, doing research in some fields of network traffic analysis related to network security and on network traffic classification. This activity was co-sponsored by my PhD student grant at UoN and by CAIDA/UCSD. Please check my caida web page for news and to see how california makes hair grow.
