  • 14) December 2013, Best Student Paper Award at ACM Conext 2013 for the paper 'P. Marchetta, V. Persico, E. Katz-Bassett, A. Pescapè, "Don't Trust Traceroute (Completely)", ACM CoNEXT 2013, Santa Barbara, California (USA), December 9-12, 2013' - poster.
  • 13) February 2013, Google Faculty Award for the UBICA (User-Based Internet Censorship Analysis) research project.
  • 12) November 2012, Open Source Software World Challenge 2012, certificate of achievement in recognition of outstanding professional achievement and contribution to the development of open source software for the TIE (Traffic Identification Engine) platform.
  • 11) November 2012, for the paper “Broadband Internet Performance: A View From the Gateway", by S. Sundaresan, W. de Donato, N. Feamster, R. Teixeira, S. Crawford, A. Pescapè, published at ACM SIGCOMM 2011, Toronto (ON, Canada), August 2011, Srikanth Sundaresan has received the IRTF (Internet Research Task Force) ANRP (Applied Networking Research Prize). Also, this paper has been selected for Communications of the ACM Research Highlights (2012).
  • 10) August 2012, Best Poster at SIGCOMM 2012 for the poster "Detecting Third-party Addresses in Traceroute IP Paths", by W. de Donato, P. Marchetta, A. Pescapè, presented at SIGCOMM'12, Helsinki, August, 2012 (For this work Pietro Marchetta - one of my PhD students - has won the 1st place in the ACM SIGCOMM 2012 Student Research Competition).

Pescapè, published at ACM SIGCOMM/SIGMETRICS Internet Measurement Conference IMC 2011, Berlin (Germany), November 2011, Alberto Dainotti has received the IRTF (Internet Research Task Force) ANRP (Applied Networking Research Prize). 
  • 8) June 2012, I have been appointed as “Affiliate Senior Research Fellow” within the “VMLab: Testbed for Desktop Virtualization Experiments” at the Ohio Supercomputer Center/OARnet, The Ohio State University (USA).
  • 7) February 2012, I have been appointed as Honorary Visiting Senior Research Fellow at the School of Computing, Informatics and Media of the University of Bradford (UK).
  • 6) January 2012, awarded the NVIDIA Academic Partnership, involving a donation of a C2075 for experimenting with Machine Learning and Data Mining algorithms for Network Traffic Classification. 
  • 5) November 2011, Open Source Software World Challenge 2011, certificate of achievement in recognition of outstanding professional achievement and contribution to the development of open source software for the D-ITG (Distributed Internet Traffic Generator) platform.
  • 4) November 2011, TEA (Technologybiz Endorsement Award) 2011 for the BISMark project.
  • 3) June 2010, Best Local Paper award at IEEE ISCC 2010 for the paper "UANM: a platform for experimenting with available bandwidth estimation tools", by A. Botta, A. Pescapè, G. Aceto, M. D'Arienzo, published at 15th IEEE Symposium on Computer and Communications (ISCC 2010), Riccione (ITALY), June 2010.
  • 2) February 2009, IET Communications Premium Award 2009 for the paper ''Performance measurement of IEEE 802.11b-based networks affected by narrowband interference through cross-layer measurements'', by L. Angrisani, A. Pescapè, M. Vadursi, G. Ventre, published in IET Communications (formerly IEE Proceedings - Communications), vol.2, no.1, pp.82-91, January 2008.
  • 1) November 2007, awarded the INTEL IXA UNIVERSITY PROGRAM, involving a donation of two Dual-Core Intel Xeon LV processors equipped with Intel E7520 chipset development kits for experimenting with algorithms for high performance networking (mainly network traffic generation).
