Walter de Donato

Walter de Donato received his M.S. degree in Computer Engineering in 2006 from the University of Napoli Federico II, Italy. In 2006 he became a member of the COMICS (COMputers for Interaction and CommunicationS) research group directed by Prof. Giorgio Ventre at Department of Computer Engineering and Systems of the University of Napoli "Federico II". From February to July 2010 he visited the College of Computing at Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA, USA, working on the evaluation of broadband access network performance from the home gateway point of view. Such activity brought to the launch of the BISmark project, which has been partially funded by Google, Intel and NSF. In 2011 he received his Ph.D. in Computer Engineering and Systems from the same university, where he currently works as a Post-Doc. His research interests mainly concern methodologies, techniques, and distributed architectures for measuring, analyzing, classifying, and monitoring network traffic and for discovering network topologies at IP layer. He closely cooperates with Antonio Pescapè, Alessio Botta, Alberto Dainotti, Giuseppe Aceto and Pietro Marchetta He is member of IEEE Communications Society and ACM.
